TMM results update TDOR 2009
To support the international trans community, we provide a special update of the TMM results each year for the International Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR).
The TDOR is held annually on November 20th to raise public awareness of hate crimes against trans people and to provide a space for publicly mourning and honouring the lives of trans people who might otherwise be forgotten. In 2009, TDOR events were held in more than 140 cities in 21 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. You can find a map that vividly illustrates this worldwide trans event here.
The update of the TMM results that is published shortly before the International Transgender Day of Remembrance covers the time span from the last TDOR to the present TDOR.
The TDOR 2009 update of the TMM results has revealed more than 160 reported cases worldwide from November 20th 2008 to November 12th 2009.
